Often considered a part of
Little Italy, or an extension of the
Glebe, Centretown West is an Ottawa neighbourhood which lies south of Lebreton flats, north of Dows Lake, and east of Hintonburg. It is mostly composed of low density residential and commercial properties, and some light industry that has lasted since the mid 1900's.
A section is dominated by Chinese and Vietnamese businesses, and is considered to be Ottawa's Chinatown. The spill over from Little Italy also contributes to a substantial Italian population. Within walking distance to Dows lake, there is plenty of park space and bike paths to take advantage of. Carleton University is to the south, and is easily accessible via OC Transpo systems. Routes 6 and 85 stop nearby the entrance to these lovely Ottawa rentals.
