The Strathcona is situated in beautiful Sandy Hill, and since 1927 has prided itself as a choice residential location, on nearly one acre of landscaped grounds. Built in 1927 as one of Ottawa's finest addresses, it has been home to many prominent residents, mainly John Diefenbaker and Tommy Douglas.

Its massive colums, elaborate pediment and dressed stone coursing were all restored in 1992, as well as a coplete internal restoration, to include security intercom and surveillance system. The hardwood floors, nine foot ceilings and heritage mouldings were all restored to their original glory. Rent includes heat and hot water; hydro is the responsibility of the tenant. Laundry facilities can be found inside the building, and indoor parking is available for an added fee.
