Scams

Ottawaliving.ca provides an opportunity for the Ottawa public to post their home for sale or rent. Ottawaliving.ca does not take any responsibility for the accuracy of the information, nor it’s validity. If you are considering renting or purchasing one of the listings on ottawaliving.ca, you should get legal council, as well as do your due diligence to insure you protect yourself in the process of entering into a contract. There is some great information on the RCMP's site about fraud, worth a read before entering into any agreement.

If you suspect someone is using the OttawaLiving.ca site to scam people, please contact us immediately. There is a particular individual who we've caught several times, usually it's a rental unit. He states he's out of the country, and if you send money to him, he will send the key and give you access to the rental. Please do not send money. Please report this scammer.

Internet scamming is on the rise, please inform yourself of possible problems. There's a great page with information on Craig's list, which clearly identifies some possible scaming scenerios... please take the time to read before sending money to anyone.
